De-Drawing (2016)

De-Drawing is a real-time digital artwork that uses a simple algorithm to create a complex image: with each loop of the algorithm, a randomly coloured line is drawn horizontally or vertically across the screen. At the same time, a black line is also drawn on the screen in the same manner, which erases parts of the coloured lines already drawn. Over time, this process creates a complex image of broken and overlapping lines, acting as both a splintered memory of what was once there, but also a memory that is still being written; interfering with how they are remembered.
